There was a documentary program on Hillsborough last night on the BBC.

I was wondering what a non football community knew/thought of the Hillsborough disaster.

I ask cos amongst say United fans , heres the views of today

http://www.redcafe.net/f7/e-petition-release-govt-hillsborough-files-337931/index28.html

but amongst that is letter by Bernard Ingham - which he still sticks to to this day , despite all the evidence, and obvious hurt that kind of view causes.

Apologies - this is a little, out of context. BUt the fact this is a non football community, is precisely why I wondered of people thought of this here.

I can't help wondering why the BBC has been sitting on that footage all of this time.

To be fair - I think maybe they thought the authorities and legal investigation would look have at properly - or at least fairly (It had been release to police, and families previously they said)

Did you have in mind any particular footage? THere was a bit more contempary hard evidence, Re Kevin Williams, but really the evidence was always overwhelming to what actually occured anyway.

Do you think Ingham actually believes his own views, I cant decide which is worse, to be so involved and ignorant, or to deliberately continue a lie.

Shocking anyway - and shocking footage following indiviudals in last nights show.

I'll own up to being distracted by a longish phone call during the programme but I thought they had advertised it as new evidence, if it had been made public in a program back in 85 surely the cover up could not have happened. We have recently had a similar incident regarding the Jimmy Saville affair.

There didnt seem to be that much new stuff in terms of revelations. Maybe plenty hadnt been shown before.

There was a good few is dotted and t's crossed , in terms of collaborating evidence that the authorities had succesfully , changed, discredited and denied though.

The basic truth was always hiding behind lies but otherwise in plain sight.

I just finished reading Dawkins "The God Delusion", in which he talked about the correlation between level of education and atheism. i.e., more scientific/technical/educated populations have more atheists (that explains why there are so few atheists in U.S., just look at the educational system).

Are you on the right thread?
