I am trying to create a Weekly Schedule Report. The query request a specific time period (Between [Enter Starting Date:] and [Enter Ending Date:]) and then displays the lots due to be delivered each day between the time period.

The problem is that it would work better for me if I could get the lots to print horizontally. As of now, the report splits the information by day, so we have 5 pages. The user would really appreciate it if we could put it all on one page.

I would like the information to show this way:

Delivery Date
11/01/02

Job Code Units Run Superintendent Lots
2CABC 5 R Bob 14, 23, 24

11/04/02

BHWC 6 N Jason 52, 101, 145

I tried a crosstab query but it will not work with the between dates on the main query.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The basic answer: Use columns.

The longer answer: Here's how I used columns to handle a similar situation...
  • Use "Page Setup" to set report up in "Landscape" format.
  • While you're there, set "Number of Columns" to 5 and
  • Set "Column Layout" to "Down, then Across".
  • Go back to the design view and re-arrange the fields so they'll fit within the columns (push all the stuff that should be in a column over to the left edge of the page, and resize to column width or less).
  • For each section of the report, check the "Format" properties for "Force New Page", "New Row or Col", and "Keep Together" (you'll need to play with these to get a new column to start for every day, while only forcing page breaks when you desire [perhaps, by week]).

Crosstabs will work with parameters, but you have to define them as Date/Time

Horizontal Printing

Ok, I am at a loss on how to do this. I would really appreciate any help I can get. I have been working on this for a few weeks now. I am attaching a small sample of the database. It has the tables, query, and report that goes along with this.

Sorry I only have 97, you'll have to save it as that version if you want me to take a look
