Hi,

From your posts it looks like you want to use access to search Excel Spreadsheets and that's it.

Whilst you can link to a spreadsheet from Access, it's not just a matter of doing that and away you go.

You can import you spreadsheets into access and you can update data in your database from your spreadsheets as and when they take place, but you will have to build those actions into your database in order to do that.

You need to take some time to fully understand how access works and identify clearly what it is you want to do with regards to managing your data in the spreadsheets.

Personnally I think you need to make a decision as to whether or not you want to continue to use spreadsheets or make the jump to Access to manage your data.

Access is extremely powerful and offers you plenty of scope to acheive your requirements, you just need to be prepared to make the jump or not, also just asking for help without providing a good level of information about what it is you want to acheive will not get you the kind of help your looking for.

Be clear and concise about what it is that your spreadsheets are currently being used for and what it is that you can't do in a spreadsheet that has prompted you to look into using Access to achieve those requirements.

Provide some sample spreadsheets to enable any person that might be willing to assist you with your project to see what it is you are working with, which may give that person the ability to provide you with the kind of help you are looking for.

Regards

John
