1. You have to believe the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.

2. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.

3. You have to believe that guns, in the hands of law-abiding Americans, are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology, in the hands of Chinese communists.

4. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical, documented changes in the earth's climate, and more affected by yuppies driving SUVs.

5. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.

6. You have to be against capital punishment but support abortion on demand.

7. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.

8. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but activists from Seattle do.

9. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.

10. You have to believe the military, not politicians, start wars.

11. You have to believe the NRA is bad, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.

12. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.

13. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, General Robert E. Lee or Thomas Edison.

14. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides aren't.

15. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried, is because the right people haven't been in charge.

16. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, bestiality and transvestites should be constitutionally protected and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

I, of course, realize that the above list is an extremist view (although our "friends" across the pond may not), and if we were to create a similar list of conservative ideals, I would end up agreeing with some of those statements as well as these. Am I the only one that sees the Great Divide between our two main ideologies becoming almost laughable? When you find a political group that creates a noble idea or original solution, they immediately crush it with some form of complete drivel that makes it impossible to take them seriously. (sounds like someone else...) Hence, we get a race for the Whitehouse where instead of voting for the most qualified candidate, we vote for the one we think will screw up less than the other?

Then again, if the intention of your post was purely comical in nature and not thought provoking, it's just a rainy Monday after Daylight Saving Time, I'm too tired, and I apologize. :D

b. How can she (link) smile, etc while our men and women are dying in Iraq?
c. fyi - I think there is at least a little truth in all 16 of the 'Good Liberal' requirements...

It's spread by the lack of federal funds for education on the subject

2. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.

Why not, those same uneducated teachers teach history in your classrooms

3. You have to believe that guns, in the hands of law-abiding Americans, are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology, in the hands of Chinese communists.

Well let me see, 30,000 people a year in your country die from guns in the hands of so called law abiding Americans, nobody has been killed as a result of the Chinese having nuclear technology, in fact the only country to kill with nuclear weapons is the good ol' US of A

4. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical, documented changes in the earth's climate, and more affected by yuppies driving SUVs.

Unlike republicans who just ignore the majority of scientists who dispute their opinion

You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.

Unlike Republicans who believe they're God

6. You have to be against capital punishment but support abortion on demand.

Unlike capital punishment of course the victim isn't kept waiting for 25yrs and doesn't have an invited audience to watch the operation

8. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but activists from Seattle do.

You don't strike me a naturist

10. You have to believe the military, not politicians, start wars.

Ask Patton, McCarthur, Le May etc. etc

11. You have to believe the NRA is bad, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.

Yeah it supports the right to massacre children on a regular basis:rolleyes:

15. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried, is because the right people haven't been in charge.

Well I hate to be the one to dispel the myth but it's been working in Europe for the past 60yrs, perhaps if you actually had qualified history teachers you'd learn the truth

I saw the BBC news of her staring at some slave models - she looked a bit confused by it all. I would have thought that coming from Alabama she'd know all about that stuff.

I liked the way she laughed off the anti American / anti war demo's outside as being what they're trying to achieve in Iraq so people can voice their opinions. Then she came out and said that Iraq wasn't Iran - so she's obviously browsed an atlas at some point.

She would only know how the coloured people were / are treated in Alabama by the white Americans. Do they still have separate shops / buses and park benches with "whites only" on them?
