i want help with how to calculate the average and the totals for this table. i am doing a project on cricket.. i tried using ecpression builder but the only problem is that it only calculates the total in the first row, which emans its not really the total and its just the number in the first row.. i basically want to add the first rows runs and the second rows runs to create a total.. i will add a picture for you to get a better diea of what i am talking about

as you can see from the pic the totaql runs are being shown as 4 where it should be 10 and same for the overs bowled.. i dont really know how to caluclate the average.. please help..

Use a Totals Query, Group by Over, Sum runs etc

Set your Average text box to Standard. Set the decimal places to the number you desire.

In the Control Source for the Average box enter:
=Sum([TotalRunsScored]/[TotalOversBowled])

This should give you the desired number.

NOTE: I have very little knowledge of Cricket, so I am assuming these are the two fields required to get the desired average.

The mysteries of cricket are safe:D

the normal batting average is runs per completed innings so you would need to divide the the totalRuns for each player by the number of times they have been out.

wht do u mean by a total query.. hw do u setup one?

Ok, So England go into bat first against the West Indies and every single batsman is clean bowled first bowl.

Question: Which number batsman is left standing? No cheating...

Number 8 if my fingers don't lie:)

You can't clean bowl every batsman
