Hi,

I have been sent an Access file. I'm on a MAC. This access file has a number of queries (and tables) saved on the access file, that are executed directly from an ASP program I known own/maintain. I was to view the source of the queries that live in that MDB file. Is there a way for me to do this, if I say have excel?

Thanks!
Paul

If you are trying to view the content of tables and queries via MS Excel you can use Microsoft Query and make the Access database your datasource.
See the menu Data>Import External Data>New Database Query
Select MS Access Database* click ok
Find the database in the directory and click ok
You'll see a list of available tables and Columns.
For more on how to use the Microsoft Query in Excel see this Help file in Excel under Import External Data

Or you could do a virtual windows machine on the mac. That's what I do, works better than on a pc....

I can't imagine this working on a Mac. I believe the Jet/ACE database engine is required to retreive data from an mdb file.

Maybe it could be done via ODBC but I don't know enough about Mac support for ODBC.

xp on my macbook just seems to run faster. Not sure why, it may slow down one day, who knows...

I guess "faster" would depend on what hardware you were comparing the performance.
Which Virtual Machine do you use?
