I think that is not possible.
But a little trick can help you.
Create a small label that show only the underscore.
Place this label over the character (G in your example). The label should be transparent, of course.
Use the CLICK event for this small label in order to run the query.

You should absolutely NOT do this.
Do not invent your own personal user interface convention, that runs counter to what is standard in user interfaces.
A link is an entire word underlined.
