import excel

hello,
what i need to do is to import an excel file to access. now i have a problem. i need to find the left/top place and the right/bottom place of the table in access so the moment i'll use "TransferSpreadsheet" all the column heads will be the head of the columns in the access table.
please tell me how can i go into the excel file and check stuff i need. maybe to run a macro that does that (i can run a macro but i need it to be in the file that i am importing and it won't be there...)
