Importing datefield not working, help !

Hi,
I'm importing four colums form an Excel sheet into a table.
One of the columns has dates in it in this format :d-m-yyyy u:mm
This Ecxel file is a download from an MySQl db.
The props of the table date field are default date/time. It 's no option to change this, because the MS db is used by several people through the country.
With VBA code I changed this Excel column to different properties, like this:

With xlsheet
    .range("C:C").NumberFormat = "d-m-yyyy u:mm"

But without succes.. however the props of the xls column are changed, the table shows all dates at 30-12-1899.
Tried several formats, all without succes
Can't get it right... Who can help me out here ??
