Importing dates problem

Hi

When I import spreadsheet into the Access 97 table, I get all my dates in the text format (for example 9/12/2002 would look like 37511) And Access wouldn't allow me to change the format from text to date/time

What should I do?

it is defined as date/time in the spreadsheet, but when I import data it all comes in as the text.

If the date looks like 37511 then it isn't in TEXT format. It is in either LONG INTEGER or DOUBLE.

Look at what you get, post the field type.

You need to convert the field to double, then to date.
