is microsoft access still used at your company

Sharepoint isn't even a new, shiny thing. There are better ways to use Access remotely. Citrix and RD are far more flexible AND your existing apps will work.

I mean it's new to these folks at my workplace. They don't seem to trust Access because a previous database they made was a disaster. It wasn't set up for multiple users which restricted entry to one person at a time and they kept trying to use an unbound form which was throwing all kinds of errors on saving the primary key field, so they resorted to just keying into the table. Coming from that experience it's no wonder their fascination with SharePoint.

Are you talking about an IT department or uneducated users? If it was IT people trying to make the database, fire them. If it was users, train them.

Users who are above my level and thus outside my rights to train. It's too bad.
