Is Null in a Query

Hi, hope someone can help. I want the option of leaving perameters blank in a query in more than one field. the problem is that if I leave one blank and fill the perameters in for the other it brings all records up anyway. Is there a way around this?

Placing them on seperate rows in the qbe grid parameter section will set them up as a series of 'or's instead of 'and's when they're all on the same row...

Scratching Head

Thanks guys for the hel, however I'm still scratching my head. I'm at the dummy end of databases so you perhaps need to spell it out a bit simpler to me. I am trying to use, at the moment, in the criteria section: -
between [from date] and [to date]
[from date]is null
[to date]is null

the above is in the date field, then in the cost centre field i have: -

[cost centre code]
[cost centre code]is null

combinations of leaving different perameters blank give me different results.

Does this make my plight any clearer?
