Kiwi's World Champs!

I wonder if it's because he knew you lived in Australia for a while;)

Well I wondered that. Not sure what Lister is getting at though. That's why I hope he'll answer the question or do what the Yanks do and totally ignore any questions.

Yea was ignoring you, thought it the best, as the old Col' Rich double team act will crank up and ruin a simple and pleasant thread.

I posted a nice wee thread on a fantastic world cup win for the Kiwi's. For the interest of anyone who would be INTERESTED in League or Rugby.

But as often happens, you come in with a flippant comment of "who cares", well not you. Then comments on how gay this is and what poof's they are....

If someone had posted a thread on a football game, I wouldn't come in and make sniping remarks about how lam and gay I think the sport is. I wouldn't post at all. Because I understand that all sorts of people are into all sorts of different things. But ya can't help yaself can ya.

I feel I'm stuck in a Bob Dylan song, "Colin's got the drop on me, Rich is on top of me. Here I am, stuck in the middle...." :P

So in the end, if someone responding to your flippant and oft' rude snipes at one sporting preference, culture and nationality. You should expect, an realy be unsuprised, in getting a snip or two back. I hope it didn't penetrate your all to thin skin, strike a nerve and put you into counseling.

To finish, a quote for the codex astartes, "An open mind is like a fortress, with it's gates unbard and defences lowered".

Statsman...just to clarify...there are 2 sports that can be easily confused with each other by the unaware: Rugby Union and Rugby League.

This world cup is in the sport of Rugby League. The primary winter sport in New Zealand is Rugby Union, with Rugby League a comparatively smaller competitor.

The Rugby Union world cup is a much larger event with many nations competing. By comparison the Rugby League world cup is typically just an exercise in gifting Australia a piece of silverware. I think the only country besides Australia to have won it before was Great Britain. So, it's a big deal for New Zealand Rugby League fans, and for non-Australian rugby league fans too. :D

My comment was generic. Yours seemed to be personal, I wondered why you did that. I don't play rugby so am not familiar with woofters.

BTW - what Dylan song is that you refer to?

Bet you wouldn't make that remark face to face with a rugby player:D

Besides I thought "woofters" played all sorts of ball games nowadays:D

Stop dissing me, I responded in a light hearted manner to another member who was in himself responding to a comment made by you!

League is the one where they pass the ball back between their legs after a player's been tackled right?

Yep, that's the main difference, each team get 5 tackles to gain meters down the field and a try then they have to turn the ball over. Unless they loose the ball in a tackle or penalty etc.
Once it was a faster game than union, but not any more.

News report today that the IRB (International Rugby Board) wants to ban the haka!!! What a bunch of wooses

They shouldn't ban the Haka unless certain ABs get too precious about it.
