I have inherited an Access Database program.

I have a table in database A that is linked to a table in database B. Database B has changed location.

How can I determine which table in database B the table in database A is linked to? I can't see the structure of the linked table in database A because it won't allow me to open it as the location of the database has changed.

I am hoping there is a tool out there that allows me to look inside an Access database and see what points to what.

Look in Tools /Add-Ins/Linked Table Manager.

This opens a window which shows which tables are linked, and the path where the DB expects to find them. If they have moved, and you know where they now reside, you may re-link them by doing the following:

1. Put a check next to tables you want to re-link.
2. Put a check at "Always prompt for a new location."
3. Place the cash equivalent to US$3000 in an envelope and mail it to me.
4. Click OK.

You will be prompted to select the DB containing the linked tables.

OK, OK, before I get kicked from the forums, step three is purely optional.

Linked Table Manager

bwyrwitzke: The design view does not work, as I stated in my original post. It won't allow me to open it because the location of the file has changed.

ListO: I am not that bad! :) That has been tried already. The result is the same as if I would just create a new link to the new location. I can easily do that. It does not help me determine which table was originally used. Remember as I stated in my original post that the names of the linked table don't resemble any of the tables in the database that was moved. I have no way of knowing which table to link to. That is why I am trying to see if there is a way to do this.

As for number three, I suggest you send that amount to me for not fully reading my original post! :D :D (I am just joking here.) I really do appreciate the help on this guys.

Thanks a bunch! :D
