Listbox multiselect help

I would like to use a listbox set to multiselect to add records to a junction table. I've been using code to accomplish this with checkboxes (love how it looks and works) but after moving my tables to Office 365 as the backend, linkedto a local frontend, sql does not like this particular set up, and I do not have the time or knowledge to sort out why. So what I need is a step by step to look at the many, in this case possible roles a contact can have, and choose one or more, which then creates a record in the junction table with the contact id and role id.
I would prefer to not use a combobox on a continuous form because every time a user goes to select roles he would have to scroll through all the choices for each separate role, ugh.
Help would be most appreciated.

you'll need to modify the code in the loop to add new records to your table instead of creating a criteria

Well that's a step in the right direction except, I want my end user to see, and the choices available before appending, and be able to select them not have to enter them in manually. and I don't need to choose the contact because this would be on a subform with the main form being one contact's records.

I didn't mean to sound off, there, I'm just trying to figure this out and I'm under a deadline. Plus I'm still very much a novice, so I'm afraid, I often need things lined out for me. I do appreciate the help though.
