locking database

Hi,

I am trying to repair the database when this message pops up that another user is using the database. However, the user is myself. How can I unlock it or clear up the situation ?

I have tried to make a copy and rename it. Even though it allows me to do it, yet every time when I open this database the other mdb (old one) with the idb will also appear in the folder and I can't delete that folder either because it is telling me that the folder is not empty.

Please help.

Have you tried opening it in exclusive mode?

File...
Open...
Select your db, then on the right of the open button, clikc the drop down arrow, then open exclusive.
