i was wondering if there is any way that i could get the users name from the login form that i have just entered to the switchboard form that appears after a member has logged in.

Declare a Public variable in an independent module, then assign the login name to the variable at login time; this will make the login name available anywhere within the database.

Just remember to declare it as Public and not Dim, otherwise it will only be available within the scope of the module it is in.

im fairly new to access and dont really know how to create a public module. can anyone give instructions or an example. thanks
