Looking for a laptop

I only knew that Dell is a good brand for a laptop..

Asking what laptop should be bought without saying what it is intended to do is like saying they you need "a vehicle to move some stuff" without describing the "stuff".

You might need anything from a wheel barrow or bicycle through to an A380 or a supertanker.

I know. Too late now though, as I bought one. Largely just internet browsing. Sometimes I mess with Access or other things like that. My program analyst major will probably have me playing with multiple languages. I think my Viao can handle anything I can throw at it.

edit- My old laptop was fine, it just didn't have an hdmi out. I have a nice tv, and I want to be able to watch some hi def movies on it. I paid $1000 for it about four years ago, so its really nothing special. Probably something like an i5, 2 gigs of ram, I don't think it has a video card.

edit- I upgraded to an i7 with a video card, 4 gigs of ram, much larger 500 gig hard drive.
