Right i had a problem with my forms going all funny on me, e.g. not always maximising although i had the DoCmd.Maximize code in the on open and on load events.

i found that

Opening my form in Form view.
Sizeing the form to the size i want by dragging the borders of the Form window to where i want them and clicking on save then making sure the AutoResize property is set to NO, worked for me.

hope that might help someone who didnt already know that!

sorry everyone prob knows this but im always asking question so thought i would share that with anyone who may need it!

Hi Lyns

So you're all sorted with this one now? What I usually do is maximize the main switchboard so that evey other form will then be maximized anyway and no need to do this on every form.

Hope your ok

PS What is the date of your halloween party? I can't remember if you said the 25th or the 26th. I suppose you'll give me the details nearer the time ie like where about in Edinburgh you live and times etc..........see you there!!

25th honey! i think i can get you picked up too but not sure!

i think i have solved another one of my problems too

Dim strDocName As String
Dim strFilter As String

strDocName = "MethPrescriptionPrint"
strFilter = "Ref: = forms!Methadone Script!Ref:"

DoCmd.OpenReport strDocName, acViewNormal, , strFilter

not tried this yet but i belive that this code will select the currant record! hence allowing me to print only the currant record......now all i need to do is get it to print twice once with a date once without!

nope i get a syntax error missing operator in qry expression "Ref: = forms!Methadone Script!Ref:"

exactly the same! i have this code in the print button on the form! but you can let me know a better way cos my preview doesnt work either!

Hi Lyns

Where are you puting that code you posted? I am using a search form at present in one of my databases where you choose the record from the combo so this is then the current record. I have code behind a cmdbutton that previews the report then you choose to print but you can send it directly to print if required. Does this sound like it might be of interest to you or are you intending to do this in a different manner?

Let me know

Lyns

I have sent you a demo, sorry for delay I had to take out the confidential stuff.
