mdb file size

Recently I imported 2 very large tables into my database which greatly increased the file size. Even though I have now deleted the tables, the size of the file is still the same.

It was also the same situation when I cleared out alot of outdated data from one of our work databases. The file size did not shrink.

Why is this, and how do you go about correcting the file size?

Compact and repair the db and the ghosties should disapear

I think we need a sticky, we the words, "COMPACT & REPAIR"; its like 1/5ths of everyones problems.
