Hi,

I am involved in student administration and my aim is to make the administration more efficient than it has been so far. I have joined the forum, because I am currently making the move from Excel to Access.
With a background in research, I have lots of experience with Excel, SPSS and R, plus some extra programming skills.
But when it comes to Access, I'm really a newbie. Most of what I know is from online tutorials and there's no-one around I could ask. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Simone

Welcome to the forum.
The most important thing to remember is that a relational database is not a spread sheet, sounds obvious but it is amazing how many questions arise because people design their table like a spread sheet, yeah that's right singular.
Read about and understand normalisation, it's the key to good DB design.
