Mp3 ID3 tags

Hi guys

Anyone know how to read / create ID3 tags for mp3's? I have found various snippets but they are mainly vb.

Any pointers greatly appreciated

so far, i can't seem to find anything on doing this without using VBA.

I can't get this working. I was hoping for a full VBA option that didn't include references if possible as they are unreliable

Thanks for your reply. Do you know if the the sample is ID3v1 or v3? I suspect v1 as I get errors saying file in wrong mp3 format

You're right, it looks like it was written for the older ID3v1. I don't know if any of the code or methods could be adapted for the newer tags. I've never used it I just remembered bumping across it a while back when I saw your post.

Perhaps you can interact with your media player. I put a sample up here how to interact with itunes.

I don't want to rely on an application to provide the data. Id rather obtain the data purely by code. It must be achievable as it can be done almost native in excel!

Have you tried Perry's ID3 tag library? It says it works with v1 and v2.
