Folks, we are have a few databases that a lady is having issues with. She created them a while back, and lately when she closes them down, the LOCK files are getting stuck in the folder and she can't get back into it (not every time). She also tried to delete them and it says they are still in use (by her). I have to clear the connection on the server to reset those files then delete the lock file. If she logs off, it seems to resolve it.

She has full access to that folder, and the file. I updated her network card drivers too. She runs Win. 7 64 bit Enterprise. Does anyone know how to fix this and resolve it once and for all?

Thank you!

were you able to resolve this problem? looks like I'm having the same problem

What version of Access was the BE created with?
What version of Access was the FE created with?
What versions of Access are the users running?
What versions of Windows are the users running?
What versioon of Windows is the server running?

I have heard reports of similar problems in multi-os environments but I don't have any specifics.

BE/FE was created with Access 2003, some users are on Access 2010 onWindows 7 while some are on 2003 on XP, not sure about the server

does access close down properly, or does she have dififculty with that.

one issue is that is recordsets are declared at a global level, and are not closed, "closing" access does not work properly.

or maybe she has a hidden form she did not close properly

maybe she has multiple versions of the database running

if windows says the ldb file is in use, then almost certainly there is an active process

try task manager - that will show you any access processes.
