I have both A97 & 2000 versions running on my computer. The database I am trying to open was developed in the 97 version. When I try to open it, I come across with the following message:

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel."

The association seems to be okay. However, I can only open the database by first opening A97 and then using the open command in the menu.

I suppose it is related with the registry values somewhere...

Any ideas?

boxster,

As far as I know, Access does use the registry. Whenever you
open a database Access "remembers" which version was used
last and defaults to that. You could use specific launchers
that point to the different versions of Access.

The solution could be like this:
Create shortcut on desktop and in property Target point to "msaccess.exe". Of course path to MS Access97 and 2000 should be different. After path to executable create blank character and then indicate path to database file itself.
