MS Word problem

I have XI , and my Report accesses an SP for its data.
It is called from a .Net application, and printed via MS Word.

The report displays lots of data in differing formats, and so I use Detail Lines 'A' through to 'I' to handle this.

The contents of Detail 'G' can occur lots of times.

The rpt works 99% of the time fine.

But when Detail 'G' has 6 or more lines present,
the top contents of Detail 'H' overwrite most of the bottom of the 6th line from Detail 'G', making the display from MS Word wrong.

If I save the output file as a .doc, & then open it in WordPad, the contents are all present OK

It is just when opened in MS Word that I get the scenario above.

I have tried various settings in Section Expert for 'G' & 'H', and also for the data item in Detail 'G', all to no avail.

Can anyone suggest how to prevent this scenario ?

Thanks in anticipation.

I can't understand why Word would be doing this, but can't you just export as a PDF?

Hi Kempes
It is a business decision, because the users wish to cut & paste from the report, and pdf doesn't allow this.
The problem appears to be that Crystal is miscalculating how much space to allow Detail G when output to Word.. I have been playing with different fonts and line spaces, but no success.

Acrobat Reader 7.0 onwards does let you copy text to clipboard.
Not sure about previous versions.

Tools/Basic/Select

will give you a cursor on the page.

This may be a workaround.

Thanks for your suggestion Kempes. I have just followed your suggestion, and it does indeed work. It is a bit late in the day however to switch from MSWord to PDF. I have in fact managed to fix my problem by changing my font for the field in Detail G from Ariel to Book Antigua. Many thanks for trying to help me.
