Multiuser Database Error

I have multiple users getting the message

"Unrecognized database format:" and it gives the location of the mdb file. Does anyone know what this means?

What version of MS access is everyone using and what Version of MS Access was the database created in?
If all of the applications are the same version then either the database may be corrupt or the network path is not pointing to the database file.

How is your sharing set up?

Do they have a full version of access on their machines? - not just runtime, (or no access at all?)

It's corrupted and unlikely that you can repair it.

Actually, the possibility also exists that someone converted it to a different version.
