I've still got the soldering iron I bought for Univ. of New Orleans grad-school projects when I was wiring up my own circuits for experiment triggering. Needed to coordinate the start of an experiment with a data-gathering program on a computer, so I had to put together a small signal-splitter. The circuit is long gone and I'll bet the equipment doesn't work any more either. The computer might still be there but there is no way for me to easily discover that.

That's pretty cool! It reminds me of some of the projects that my son works on, he just graduated engineering from Arizona State University and had a lot of stuff like that included in his projects
