New computer shuns Functions

Help, SJ, or another genius, please. A new machine is flung onto this desk, and beautiful as it is, it refuses to recognise query Functions in Access 2k.

In truth, it mocks me, saying 'Functon is not available in expressions in query expression ... ' and then quotes the simplest function to do with joining two fields which I have been using for most of the year.

Is there some Preference somewhere that has to be enabled, please?

Open a module, goto Tools -> References

You mean the References in the VBE? All the usual things I use appear to be ticked. Is there something in particular I should look for?

Tools/References/Remove DAO | close down | restart | Click DAO. All's well that ends well, and it is. Much obliged for the advice, somewhat abbreviated though it was.

I'm told that the fault very often/almost always lies with DAO. And it did. Cheers
