Newbie Here

Hi all, I have used access in the past but after a long break I've come back to it for a work project! I've managed to get most things sorted however there are a couple of bits myself and my line manager would like to add functionality wise but I really lack the knowledge! I've brought a couple of access "how to" books but I can't seem to find the answers I need. Also I've done the usual google but I can't find anything - I'm not even sure if what I want to do with the database is possible so I'd love to pick your collective brains.

I think mine are more pickled than ready to pick but I'll always help if I can and there are some very good brains that help here too
