I am trying to create a replication of a backend, Access 2000, has worked for the last few years, now I get a "Microsoft Access can't convert the database to a design master Not Enough Space on the Temporarary Disk. the database is about 1 GB

ok

first off make a copy
now copy (another one) on to your local PC
try a compact/repair
ok
no
now create a blank d/b
import tables in (compact after each table)

that should sort you out

golden rule (ensure you have back ups and when you start to messaround ensure that you have a back up on a memory stick /disc in case you have to go back to where you started

I tried that and still same error

is there really not enough space, or do you think there is a problem?

I do think there is a problem. I have 35 tables, the biggest has around 266000 records. If I reduce the size of this table I can create a replication. I feel like this is a quick fix but not the real reason. I don't want to take records out of this table.

What makes you think the error message is not correct? The process of creating the replica may use a lot of temporary space, even if the eventual result is less than the 2GB limit on an Access MDB.

Did you take it to another PC with plenty of disk space and try it there?
