Number change every year

Hi.

I created a small database which I have as fields date of entry , req no, etc etc.

When i enter the date of entry, the req no must be shown automatically commenced with number 1,2,3 etc etc

I need some help that when its 1st january of every year, the reqno must begin again from 1 and then 2 etc etc

Any idea please how can i do this please???

You can grab the year from your date field rather than having a separate field for it.

I've seen it used as the default value in a text box, behind a "save" button or in the after update event of the form.
