Hi there, just to start off by saying this is a great site!! (no brownie points wanted!)

Im a bit of a novice really but your help would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to create a REPORT from 2 tables, there is a one to many set up here. So picture the Artist -> Songs scenario. (One artist can have many songs)

When it comes to producing a report, i only seem to be able insert the fields from only ONE of the tables. I need to produce a report showing both the artist & their songs. When i try to add in the second table, songs info, (through the wizard! - how neat is that?) i get an error. Your MS style error....is it my machine or am i doing somethign terribly wrong.

Many Thanks in advance

You can't base on record on more than one table, but you can - and should - base a report on a query that can have more than one table in it.

Create a query to be the recordsource for the report. In the query, please both tables and join them, then choose all the fields that you want to display in the report.

Then go back to your report and change the recordsource from the table (artists or songs, I don't know which you've started with) and change it to the query you just created.

Thanks

Ok cool i will give that a try.

Cheers

Darren
