Hi, all.....

I'm new to this forum so if I've posted this in the wrong place, please let me know.

I created an Access DB for use by four users (all on Win 10 Pro computers) in our office. Mapped a drive (Q:\) on my computer to a shared folder on our Win 2008 R2 server. Split it on my computer (to the Q:\ drive) copied the FE to a thumb drive, created a mapped Q: drive on all the users computers and installed the FE on their computers. Three of the four users can access the BE without any problem. The fourth user cannot. The fourth user is an administrator on the server and has full privileges on the shared folder. I have checked firewall settings on her computer and found everything OK. Here's the weird part, she has other programs on her desktop that have no problems accessing their data files in a shared folder (although a different shared folder than the one in question) on the same server. This same user has another computer that we copied the FE onto and that one can't access the BE either!

I have even gone to the shared folder and copied the FE to her desktops. When she clicks on the FE desktop icon (on either computer) all it does is attempt to open the copy of Access on her local drive. I even logged on to her computer using my credentials (I, too, am an admin) and had the same problem! I have no problems accessing the BE when on my computer.

Definitely not a user account issue (I don't think) because we both get the same results on both computers with different Windows logins. Her computer can access other shared folders on the server with other programs so the communication between both her computers and the sever is fine. I have disconnected and then remapped to a Q:\ drive but that hasn't been successful either. I even check that all the tables are linked on the Q:\ drive. Three other users have no issues... just this one!

Any thoughts?

TIA...

John

All are 64 bit with ample RAM (at least 16 GB) and tons of free HDD space. Server is 2008 R2 with 32 GB Ram.

Hi. Just as a test, try using the UNC path to link the tables to the BE rather than a mapped drive.
