Open another app from inside ACCESS

I need to open another application from a button on an ACCESS form. What is the best (easiest) way to do that? I've read about shell. and another way, but my experience is limited.

If it's an application, Shell is probably the simplest method to use.

you can also use:

Application.FollowHyperlink "theprogram.exe"

The question then becomes, "What were you planning to do with the app you wanted to open?" IF you were planning to just let it run until someone kills it or it kills itself, you have been given the answer. If there is more to it than this, please try to explain in words what you really wanted to do.
