Opening OLE Object in Access

Our company has a computer system that allows users to attach PDF files into the system. The system stores these files in tables as an OLE Object when I view the table in MS Access.

I am linking to the table through an ODBC connection.

If I double click on the OLE object of a given row I get this error:

A problem occurred while Microsoft Access was communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX Control. Close the OLe server and restart it outside of Microsoft Access. Then try the original operation again in Microsoft Access

Really I'm just looking for a way of opening the file/OLE object in Microsoft Access through the linked table. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this?
