I have asked this question before but cannot put the answer into practice. I currently have 2 tables:
tbl 1 - customers
customer ID
Customer
Address
etc
tbl 2 - Orders
Order ID
Customer ID
Item
Quantity
Size
Price
Postage
Total
Currently if customer x orders 3 items,I have 3 order numbers with a lot of repetition.
I would like:
customer y orders:
2 x pairs of shoes (2 different sizes)
1 x Jumper
1 x shirt
1 x pair of socks
2 x pair of trousers (1 size 32, 1 size 34)
I would like this all to be the same order number instead of the 7 order numbers i currently have.
I have related the tables by Customer ID. I am sure there is a very easy solution to this.
If anyone can help, I (and my worn out fingers) would be eternally grateful.
I really do need help in the simplest terms possible.
Thank you in advance
