Paris Hilton's Get Out Of Jail Card.

I'm fully aware of the sacrifices made by all the allies during the war thanks, including the 20,000,000 lost by the Russians, something conveniently forgotten during the cold war, as far as the primary interest is concerned America grew wealthy from WWII, nobody else did

I'd be interested in seeing some numbers on that. What we are taught (in our substandard, biased, worthless educational system) is that America spent a great deal of money rebuilding Europe after WWII (Marshall Plan provided USD13 billion in assistance).

Your words, not mine:eek:

It provided loans because it was in America's interests to do so, both in a need to re-build an export market and as a buffer in the fight against the evil communists

Oh good grief, like the British never did much worse.

Look at the consequences of the British East India Tea Company back in the 1700s. Millions starved to death because of empirical profiteering.

It's just too easy to hit you over the head with your own stick nowadays.

we actually only finished paying back the loans to America last year. Some 60 years later. You certainly made sure we paid for your involvement.

So don't come on with the 'we did it to help Europe' theme, the USA always does things for money or oil and for the benefit of the USA, never for the benefit of the rest of the world

You were expecting any sort of intellectual competence from a guy who gets into a grammar debate and then trusts spellcheck to catch his mistakes?!?

We're talking about the twentieth century, not the eighteenth, is there any chance one day you'll stay in the correct century:rolleyes:

Hell you're not suggesting that an American product is imperfect are you?

Blah blah blah, lets look at the behavior of the British when they were the super-power. Whoops we can't can we, history isn't relevant when it's over one hundred years old.

Doing so would neatly remove all the atrocities of the British empire from view wouldn't it? Like the Bengali famine for instance.

Dread the thought that we'd put your ridiculous biased comments into some kind of historical context.

You mean like wiping out the American native Indians?

Did I need to insert an  so that you could recognize sarcasm?

From our current vantage point, it's easy to minimize the real threat that communism posed. If we have any Polish or Czech members, maybe they could refresh our memories.

Have you ever considered the possibility, and I'm just spitballing here, that the reason why the European countries fared so much worse than the U.S. in the aftermath of WWII is because Germany bombed the shit out of them? Of course the U.S. was in better shape - other than the bombing of Pearl Harbor, they weren't attacked. Having a hostile enemy destroy a country's infrastructure will cause a great deal of economic hardship, but that was not the U.S.'s doing.

No, I'm demonstrating that you lack the understanding that a piece of software is only as good its programming, and lack the literacy to do your own proofreading.

I'm all for acknowledging the atrocities in my countrys history instead of pretending that they never happened because of the century in which they occured.

Well yes but the Allies including America did far more damage

I've never pretended that the events you mentioned did not occur, neither do our history books, however despite your attempts they're not really relevant here

Only a fool would attempt it now we know the truth of Stalins regime. Gulag, checka, privation... all terms you can google to discover the vast scale of suffering caused by this supposedly benign regime.

Yes the war in 'Nam had a similar effect

This is a perfect example of your inability to engage in a coherent debate. To what does this refer? Is it not implied that the victors of a war will have done more damage? How does this address the point that your continued implication that the US involvement in WWII was soley motivated by financial gain is disrespectful to all those who lost their lives in the conflict?

When lacking any legitimate grounds for your claims, your fallback position (indeed, your only position) is to throw in the word "American" and hope people take you seriously.

So American programmers are crap then:confused:
