You can try it but it has had a load of negative reviews - try searching for "partition logic" +review, I was looking for free partition tool ages ago and decided not to try it and to be honest there are not many apparently good free ones out there.

If this is for a one off job you can do it from within Windows (right click computer > manage > disk management) but it not very intuitive. You can of course boot with your XP disk in and go through the wizard until you get the option to create a new partition or you can do it via the command prompt clicky not well designed site but it's got the info there.

If you will be doing this on a regular basis the best software imo is Partition Magic it's not too expensive - $70 plus it has loads of backup/ recovery/ diagnostic tools

Thanks - I started with the windows deal but the problem is that I can't reduce the size of my existing default partition with that tool - Hence I can't create a new partition...
