Is it possible to install an mdb on a shared folder via a Windows peer-to-peer setup, then install a shortcut on the desktops without Access 2000 so they can run the mdb anyway? I wouldn't think this is possible without Access installed on each desktop, but someone smarter than I set this up for 4 users and I can't figure out how they did it. When I create the shortcut to the shared folder, I get the "unrecognizable data file format" error message. Any comments welcome.

Each PC needs its own copy of MSAccess or they can use a shared network installation if you have the appropriate license. Failing that, you can purchase the developer's edition which allows you to distribute an unlimited number of copies of the MSAccess runtime version. With the runtime installed, a PC does not need to have the full retail version of MSAccess to run your db.

Thanks Pat. That's pretty much what I told the folks. Appreciate your prompt reply.
