Hello friends,
I have been developing an accounting database for a harware store. The store had 5 branches all located at different areas. The project is complete and the db is installed for trial period. Today this trial period is over and the Staff has handed me over the following questionnaire.
Question No1.
In my products table I had set the Input Mask for ProductId as follows;
>LLLL0000
This was set in the table by the request of manager but the salesman says that this is too difficult to handle . They want me to give them an option for choosing there own input mask. Something like they want to write the abovementioned kind of input mask in the textbox and click the command button to set that particular Input mask as the input mask for product id. Of course I cannot let them have access to the tables so I have tried by Giving them a textbox in the products form and command button and they can set ProductID as per they like but the manager is insisting that it should be done from a different form with password on it. And that passward should reside with the initial data entry user.
So this is my question
How can I set the Input Mask of my ProductId in Products Form from an other Form when my Products Form is already close?
Question No 2.
I have posted this question before also. I haven’t had any luck in this and it is still not solved
How can I justify one or two column of a listbox to center keeping the rest in there original position.
Question No3.
Well this is something technical. The management had asked me that they want this to db to work for all the branches at once. What I was thinking is to put this on SQL Server. This is how I have thought about it.
1. Splitting the database
2. Keeping the backend in Server and Front end in the stores
Now my question.
Even though I keep the backend in Server , Access only limits the maximum number of records entered in its table is 65535 appro. What if they reach this limit in one year, what will I do next?
As mentioned the store is located from each other, say more than 10 milies difference, what should I do to connect the backend with front end.
