I created a report that has gridlines that make the report look like an invoice. When I print, there are no gridlines. I've tried saving the report different ways. How do I overcome this problem.
Thanks

Sounds odd; are the gridlines visible in print preview?

It might be something to do with your printer driver and/or the colour of the gridlines - is the BorderColor property set to 0? - if not, certain printer drivers just say 'if it's not black, then it must be white' (not really, but you know what I mean)

The most effective way I've found of having gridlines on a report is to set the BorderStyle property of the text boxes in the report detail to 'Solid' and then butt the text boxes up against each other so that they join (you can fine-adjust the position of form or report elements by selecting them then holding down <Ctrl> and using the arrow keys)

Just one other thought; are you printing the report from Access, or exporting it as .RTF or HTML or something? - if so, this will be the reason that the gridlines are going missing.

The report prints fine. When I send it email, the format is in rich text (no gridlines). Also I've exported the file rich text, still no gridlines. Is it not possible to save the formating of the report in rich text?
Thanks

I've had this problem - turned out to be as our friend above guessed - the lines on my report were (somehow) in dark brown (i.e Not black).

Showed up fine on my (colour) printer but not my clinet's mono laser.

Had to select all and change the colour.

A lot of the report formatting is lost when outputting or sending reports by email - I don't know of any way around this.

sorry

Mike

I have found that if you send the report via email and choose snapshot viewer, the formatting will hold. Thanks for all your comments.
