Hi,
I am more or less new to Access. At the moment I am working on a University's database. Basically I have made a Report that displays how many hours per semester each Prof. works. The 3ed "Header" of the report is composed of the name of the Prof. and the Sum of hours he works (via a Query). Under it ("detail") I added the details of the courses each Prof. teaches (Name of course + number of hours it is worth).
For some reason these details are multiplied without any regularity (for example course names appear 5-10 times). This does NOT effect the calculations in any way (they are always correct) but it doesn’t allow me to print a reasonable report.
What can be the reason for this?

It could possibly be your query is not grouping, therefore, repeating information for some reason. In your query, if you click the Greek E type sign on the toolbar, (can never remember the proper name). Alternatively, you can go to View > Totals - and then run your query, (providing you've got no memo fields otherwise it won't work).

It may be that you need to reassess the information in the query. If this isn't the problem, post back.
