Problem creating ODBC connection to SQL SERVER 2012 EXPRESS

Hi, I have setup a new network with a server running Windows Server 2016 hosting a SQL SERVER 2012 express database. When I try to setup an ODBC connection on one of the client PC's the drop down box in the ODBC configuration does not show the SQL SERVER instance?

I have made sure the SQL services are running and enabled TCP/IP and named pipes.

Hi,
Just to let you all know that i resolved the problem. it was a port setting in the Firewall for UDP port 1434 and TCP port 1434 which had to be enabled in Inbound Rules.
