Hi, I hope someone can help with this.
I have developed an application where I would like to keep the Design Master on my desktop PC and have a replica on a shared folder on the network. I have created a replica of my application to a shared network folder and have tested the replication. It works fine.
The problem I have is that whenever I run the application of the shared network location and close the application it comes up with a message that design changes cannot be made with this replica. PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT for the message.
Why does it give this message as it is not possible to go into design mode with the replica anyway?
Also, if I then create a blank database and IMPORT the replica into a new database you have full rights make changes and obtain the source code. Is there any way apart from creating users through Access to ensure that the database design and source code remain secure?
One last thing. I also want to make another replica of the DB in the shared network folder to install with a run-time onto roaming users' notebook computers. The roaming users' will then use the application to collect and enter information on the raod and then replicate the data back to the server location when they get back to the office. Also I would like them to receive data changes on the server back to their notebooks when they log into the network. Is this possible, and what would be the best way of accomplishing this. I also do not want the roaming users to receive the data that was replicated to the server by other roaming users. Only an administrator should be able to view the collective data gathered by the roaming users.
Any comments or suggesttions will be greatly appreciated.
