problems with form controls running ACCDE file

I've Saved an Access 2010 File as an .accde version that opens Ok however none of
the buttons (eg; delete record, go to first record, next record) that I placed on the form work at all (the standard record selectors at the bottom of the form still work). All the buttons work fine in the .accdb version - only the .accde version that doesnt work...
