Purchasing Database Help

Hi All

I am new to this site. I have some basic experience with MS Access but struggle with the more complex elements.

I have recently joined a new company, there current purchasing and stock control system is using MS Excel. As I’m sure you will all appreciate this is causing the company a lot of pain. In particular, finding what orders have been placed on what customers and tracking Purchase Order Amendments and controlling documents submitted to suppliers and booking goods into our site. My role is the Quality Manager and I have picked up various issues already that I need to resolve quickly. However I don’t have the time or skill to develop one from scratch.

I know this is a bit cheeky, but does anyone have a database that they could send me to help get me started or point me in the direction where I could find one? Any help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.

There are many posts on many forums regarding Inventory Control, Stock Control. Google/Bing and you will find many. Often it is good to read the dialog in various threads --you get a "feel" for what the poster is asking, the issues etc, and some answer/options.

I'm going to recommend you watch this 26 min youtube video. It may give you a lot of real world info, rather than struggling through it first hand.
