Hello,

I have created an Access DB for personal use and I am willing to sort the queries in folders. I haven't found a way to do this, is it actually possible?

Having 40 queries all inside the database window is not so convinient...

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Groups Option
In later versions of MS Access, you have an "Outlook" style navigation bar down the left hand side of your screen. One of the options, usually the bottom one is "Groups" you can add groups to this, and drag your queries into it. Although I have never used it myself, I did get the impression it was a bit hit and miss, and I did note that some users complained about it not working to their liking. So I would do a little bit more research on this if you decide to use this option as their were some annoying problems with it.

Divider Bar
An alternative strategy is to name Several dummy query's something like:

qry_A----------------------------------------------

these dummy queries nicely divide your long list of queries up into alphabetical groups. Alternatively you could group them by their function .

Non Optimized Query
Another option is to build your query into your object, as an SQL string. This has the disadvantage that the query is not optimized, but it has the definite advantage that the query remains with the object and is easily maintained. Pure blood MS Access programmers appear incensed when they discover that you are not using optimized query's, but what does it matter if the database performs adequately?
