Hi,

We have at our company a shared database system; tables on the server, end users linked to the tables. The system is quite complex with a lot of VBA codes, all developed under 2010, runs fine.
We need to have new users but Access 2010 is not available anymore but only 2013. So some of the users would be linked from Access 2013 environment to the tables of 2010 version.
Would this arrangement probably work without issues?
When we purchase Access 2013 does it need any specification that must match with the earlier version?

Appreciate any feedback

Petko

In principle, Access 2013 should run 2010 iwithout any changes, however it is important that they are both the same 'bit' whether it be 32 bit or 64 bit.

Here is a link to changes between 2010 and 2013

Of these perhaps the most important is that 2013 does not support the old .mdb/.mde format which you may be using.

If you are using SQL server you will also need to check that it supports 2013. I don't have personal experience but I have heard of situations where SQL Server doesn't support later versions of Access - although there may be upgrade/patch available.

Thanks a lot CJ-London!
