question re security ms access on network

HI

I'm doing some support for a company who's access is on a network. I think it must have been setup so that their login to the network determines whether they can access it or not, although it still asks for a username and password.

Anyway I have a local copy of the database and a username and password for the administrator. But I can't open the copy I'm getting the error

" you do not have the necessary permissions to use the "filename" object. Have your system administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you"

I was hoping to be able to work on the database without having to be on site all the time. Is there anyway around this? or do I have to go back onsite to resolve it, and when there how do I do it

Sounds like the db is secured with a user workgroup [????.mdw] that your installation of Access is not joined to. Do you see a .mdw file in the directory with the .mdb file?

I'm going to go on site on monday so I'll have a look then, what do I do with the MDW file? Do I take that as well? if you can give me the steps I need to make a local copy on my laptop that would be great thanks, I'm not familiar with the whole security and network side of things, so need to figure that out obviously !! the rest of the stuff they need done is no prob..
