We do a draw every quarterly. We have about 1800 employees and what we do right now is print out the names and cut them out. Then we pick the name from a hat. Is there a way that access can do this so that we don't need to print and cut the names.

Thanks for your help! :)

Yes, I guess it would have to be a pretty big hat. :D

Would just number them 1 thru 1800 and roll a dice for each digit...

Hello!

We do a similar thing at xmas time, but we need a randlomly generated list of x staff members - x being dependant on how many gifts the company recieves from suppliers, customers etc.

I took the easy way and pasted a list of all staff into an excell spreadsheet, with the first column as =rand(), filled down for each staff member as well.

With great ceremony and scrutiny, I then select all of the columns and hold the mouse arrow carefully over the A->Z data sort button and turn the screen off. Then I repeadtedly click the mouse button until someone says "stop". Ctrl P , Enter then prints out the order for the prizes.

The prenumbered prizes are then put next to the winners names. If I dont do anything silly like refresh or a->z again, I can even copy the list off for later use in the generated order.
